Possible Causes
Corrupted control board memory, Loose harness between display board and main PCB, Power surge damage, Oxidized connectors
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing control boards.
- Hard reset: Unplug the ice maker for at least 15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then plug back in and see if E10 clears.
- Inspect control boards: Remove the control panel cover to access the display PCB and main PCB. Look for burn marks, swollen components, or moisture damage.
- Check harness connections: Reseat all multi-pin connectors between the display board, sensor harness, and main control board. Ensure each connector is fully latched.
- Surge protection: If the error appeared after a storm or outage, consider using a surge protector once repairs are complete.
- Board replacement: If E10 persists after reseating connectors and power cycling, the main control board (and sometimes the display board) may need replacement. This is typically a level-4 repair and may be best handled by a qualified technician to ensure correct programming and wiring.
