Possible Causes

Blocked fan blades by dust or debris, Failed condenser fan motor, Loose fan wiring, Faulty fan driver on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing the rear or bottom panels.

  • Access the fan: Remove the rear or bottom cover to expose the condenser coil and fan assembly.
  • Clean the area: Vacuum dust from the condenser fins and fan blades. Remove any plastic wrap, insulation, or debris that may be obstructing the fan.
  • Check fan movement: Spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it is stiff or wobbly, the motor bearings may be failing.
  • Inspect wiring: Verify that the fan motor connector is fully seated on the PCB and that wires are not damaged.
  • Power test (advanced): With extreme caution and only if you are experienced, you can briefly power the unit with covers off to see if the fan attempts to start. Keep fingers and tools away from moving parts.
  • Replace fan motor: If the fan does not run or is noisy and stiff, replace the condenser fan motor with a Midea-specified replacement. If a new fan does not resolve E7, the main control board may need replacement.
