Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen at valve, Failed solenoid coil on inlet valve, Low household water pressure, Kinked or frozen inlet line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close the water supply valve before disconnecting any water lines.
- Check water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve is fully open and that other fixtures have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or freezing in the supply line to the ice maker. Straighten or thaw as needed.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the hose from the ice maker's inlet valve. Inside the valve fitting there is often a small mesh screen; remove and clean it of sediment.
- Check for leaks: Reattach the hose securely and turn water back on briefly to confirm good flow to the valve.
- Valve test (advanced): With the unit powered and calling for water, a multimeter can be used to verify that the valve coil is receiving voltage. If it has power but does not open, the valve is defective.
- Replace inlet valve: Install a new Midea water inlet valve assembly if the coil is open, shorted, or mechanically stuck. Use new seals and check for leaks after installation.
