Control Mode Stuck / Software State Error
Unit stuck in cleaning mode and will not return to normal ice making
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Interrupted cleaning cycle, Faulty mode button, Corrupted control logic, Stuck float or sensor indicating cleaning not complete
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before extended resets.
- Complete cleaning cycle: Follow the manual to properly finish the cleaning and rinse steps. Some models require a long press of a specific button.
- Hard reset: Unplug the unit for 15–30 minutes, then plug back in and attempt to select ice-making mode.
- Check buttons: Ensure the mode button is not stuck or damaged.
- Sensor check: Verify that the water reservoir is empty or filled as required by the end of cleaning; a stuck float may prevent mode change.
- Control replacement: If the unit remains locked in cleaning mode, the control board or UI may need replacement.
