Possible Causes
Seized ice maker motor, Ice jam in auger or crusher, Fan motor drawing excessive current, Shorted motor winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working on motors or moving parts.
- Identify noise source: Determine whether the noise came from the ice maker module, auger, or fan area.
- Check for jams: Remove the ice bin and inspect the auger and crusher blades for stuck ice blocks or foreign objects. Clear any obstructions.
- Spin components: With power off, rotate the auger and fan by hand. They should move freely. If stiff, the motor or bearings may be failing.
- Motor test: Measure motor winding resistance and compare to specifications. A very low or infinite reading indicates a short or open winding.
- Replace faulty motor: Replace the affected motor (ice maker, auger, or fan) if it is seized or electrically defective.
Note: After clearing jams and replacing parts, clear the F25 error by power-cycling the unit.
