Ice maker shows F31, door or flap symbol flashing, ice production disabled

Safety: Disconnect power before working on door switches.

• Check door closure: Ensure the ice compartment door or flap closes fully and evenly. Adjust hinges if necessary.
• Inspect switch: Locate the door or flap switch (mechanical or magnetic reed). Check for physical damage or loose mounting.
• Magnet check: If a magnet is used to trigger a reed switch, verify it is still present and correctly positioned on the door.
• Continuity test: With the door open and closed, test the switch for proper open/closed operation using a multimeter. Replace if readings are incorrect.
• Wiring: Inspect the harness from the switch to the control board for breaks, especially near hinge points.

Note: The ice maker will not operate if the control believes the door is open for safety reasons.
