Possible Causes
Failed auger motor, Broken drive coupling between motor and auger, Jammed auger with solid ice block, Dispenser switch or door switch not signaling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the ice bin or accessing the auger motor.
- Check for jams: Remove the ice bin and inspect the auger for large clumps or foreign objects. Clear and test auger rotation by hand.
- Inspect drive coupling: Look at the coupling between the motor shaft and auger. Replace if cracked or stripped.
- Door switch: Ensure the freezer door switch is working; the dispenser will not run if the door is detected as open.
- Motor test: With a multimeter, check for voltage at the auger motor when the dispenser is activated. If voltage is present but the motor does not turn, replace the motor.
Note: Always reinstall the bin fully; a mis-seated bin can prevent the auger from engaging.
