Possible Causes
Freezer temperature too low, Dripping or seeping inlet valve, Poor insulation around fill tube, Air leaks near fill area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before defrosting the fill tube.
- Defrost tube: Allow the tube to thaw naturally or use warm air from a safe distance. Do not apply direct high heat.
- Adjust temperature: Raise the freezer setpoint slightly to reduce the likelihood of freezing.
- Check valve for seepage: After defrosting, observe the fill tube. If water drips when the valve is not energized, replace the inlet valve.
- Seal air leaks: Inspect the area where the tube enters the compartment and seal any gaps with appropriate insulation or gaskets.
Note: Recurrent freezing almost always indicates either temperature too low or a seeping valve.
