How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before accessing refrigeration components. Hot gas lines can be very hot during operation.
- Visual inspection: Check the hot gas valve coil and wiring for burns, loose connectors, or broken wires.
- Listen during harvest: During a harvest/defrost cycle (with power on and panels in place), you should hear the hot gas valve click on. If not, the coil or control relay may be faulty.
- Coil test: With power off, measure resistance of the hot gas valve coil. An open coil indicates it must be replaced.
- Professional service: If the coil tests good but E12 persists, the issue may be with the control board or sealed system. Contact a qualified Monogram technician.
