Possible Causes
Failed door switch, misaligned door actuator, broken switch wiring, defective control input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the ice maker before working around the door switch or wiring.
- Check door closure: Ensure the bin door closes fully and that nothing is obstructing it.
- Inspect switch: Locate the door switch (often near the top of the bin opening). Check that the actuator is not broken and that the switch clicks when pressed.
- Test continuity: With power off, remove the switch and test it with a multimeter. It should show continuity when pressed and open when released.
- Replace switch: If the switch fails continuity tests, replace the bin door switch and reconnect wiring securely.
- Control check: If the switch is good but E13 remains, the control board input may be faulty and require replacement.
