Possible Causes
Failed bin thermistor, disconnected bin thermistor harness, contaminated or iced-over bin sensor, defective main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off the ice maker and shut off water supply before working inside the bin area.
- Check for ice blockage: Open the bin and inspect the ice level sensor or bin thermistor area. Remove any ice buildup or frost that may be covering the sensor.
- Clean sensor: Wipe the bin sensor or thermistor area with a soft cloth and warm water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Inspect wiring: Locate the bin thermistor harness (usually routed from the bin area to the control compartment). Check for pinched, broken, or disconnected wires.
- Test thermistor: With power off, disconnect the bin thermistor and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Monogram specifications. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Reset and test: Restore power and run a test cycle. If E2 returns and the thermistor tests good, the main control board may need replacement.
