Possible Causes

Blocked condenser airflow, failed condenser fan motor, dirty condenser coil, high ambient room temperature, defective high-temperature sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Unplug the unit before cleaning or accessing internal components.

  • Check room conditions: Verify the ice maker is installed in an area within Monogram's recommended ambient temperature range. Excessive heat can trigger E4.
  • Clean condenser coil: Remove the front grille and thoroughly clean the condenser coil with a brush and vacuum. Ensure no plastic wrap or debris is blocking airflow.
  • Inspect condenser fan: With power restored, observe the condenser fan motor. It should run whenever the compressor is running. If it does not spin or is noisy, replace the condenser fan motor.
  • Check for obstructions: Make sure nothing is blocking the front grille or rear ventilation openings.
  • Sensor check: If airflow and fan are good but E4 persists, the high-temperature sensor or control board may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
