Possible Causes
Dirty bin full sensor lenses, misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, failed bin full sensor board, damaged sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power before cleaning or adjusting sensors inside the bin.
- Clean sensor lenses: Locate the bin full sensor (often an infrared emitter and receiver pair on opposite sides of the bin). Clean both lenses with a soft, damp cloth. Do not scratch the lenses.
- Check alignment: Ensure the emitter and receiver are firmly mounted and directly facing each other. Adjust mounting brackets if they appear loose or misaligned.
- Inspect harness: Follow the sensor wires back to the control board, checking for pinched or broken wires and secure connectors.
- Test operation: Restore power and observe whether the unit now stops ice production when the bin is full. If not, replace the bin full sensor assembly.
