Possible Causes
Stuck water inlet valve, failed water level sensor, kinked or blocked overflow drain, control board fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off water and power immediately to prevent flooding.
- Inspect inlet valve: If water continues to flow with power off, the water inlet valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Check level sensor: Locate and inspect the water level sensor or float switch for obstructions or scale. Clean and ensure free movement.
- Clear overflow: Make sure the overflow drain path is not blocked by debris or ice.
- Control issue: If overfill occurs only when powered, and the valve is not stuck, the control board may be energizing the valve too long and should be evaluated.
