Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
Steps:
- Reset: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, reconnect and see if E02 reappears.
- Access evaporator area: Remove the internal rear panel of the ice compartment to expose the evaporator and sensor (small probe clipped to evaporator tubing or plate).
- Check sensor connection: Ensure the NTC sensor plug is fully seated and free of moisture or corrosion. Dry any condensation and clean contacts gently.
- Test sensor resistance: With power off, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Neff service values (typically ~5–15 kΩ at room temperature). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
Next step: Replace the evaporator NTC sensor if readings are out of range or E02 persists. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it firmly to the evaporator.
