Possible Causes
Bin full sensor stuck in full position, Water level too low, Door or lid switch open (on some models), Control board logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting sensors.
Steps:
- Empty the bin: Remove all ice and ensure nothing is blocking the bin full sensor or mechanical arm.
- Check water level: Fill the reservoir to the indicated max line with clean water. Some models will not start if the level is too low.
- Door/lid switch: If your Northair model has a lid switch, ensure the lid closes fully and the switch actuator is not broken.
- Reset control: Unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug back in and attempt to start a cycle.
- Sensor replacement: If the bin full sensor or lid switch tests faulty with a multimeter, replace the defective component.
Note: Refer to the user manual for any child lock or control lock features that may need to be disabled.
