Possible Causes
Unstable AC supply voltage, Loose power cord connection, Failed internal power supply on main PCB, Burned fuse or varistor on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the ice maker from power before opening any electrical compartments.
Checks:
- Verify outlet: Plug a different appliance or a voltage tester into the same outlet to confirm stable power. Avoid using long or undersized extension cords.
- Inspect power cord: Check the Northair power cord for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace if damaged.
- Access control board: Remove the rear or side panel to reach the main PCB. Look for a blown fuse, scorched components, or bulging capacitors.
- Replace fuse (if serviceable): If the board uses a replaceable fuse and it is blown, replace it with the exact same rating. If it blows again immediately, a deeper fault exists.
- Board replacement: If the internal power supply section is visibly damaged or E12 persists despite good input power, replace the main control PCB.
Warning: Do not bypass fuses or safety components. If you are not comfortable working around mains voltage, contact a technician.
