Possible Causes
Burned-out water pump motor, Blocked pump impeller with debris, Airlock in water line, Loose or corroded pump wiring connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and shut off water supply before servicing the pump.
Diagnosis and fix:
- Listen for pump: During a cycle, the pump should be audible. If silent, suspect electrical or mechanical failure.
- Access the pump: Remove the lower front or rear panel to locate the water circulation pump attached to the reservoir or sump.
- Check for clogs: Disconnect the pump from the hoses (have towels ready). Inspect the inlet and outlet for scale, slime, or debris. Clean thoroughly.
- Inspect impeller: Remove the pump cover (if serviceable) and check that the impeller spins freely. Remove any obstructions.
- Electrical test: With the pump disconnected and the unit unplugged, measure the pump coil resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed pump. Also inspect the wiring harness and connector.
- Replace pump if needed: Install a new Northair-compatible water circulation pump if the motor is defective. Ensure all hose clamps are tight to prevent leaks.
Note: After pump replacement, run a cleaning cycle to flush any remaining debris from the system.
