Possible Causes
Drain hose routed too low causing siphon, Stuck-open drain valve, Drain pump stuck on due to control fault, Incorrect installation of gravity drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close any external drain valves before adjusting hoses.
Steps:
- Check drain hose routing: Ensure the drain hose runs downward with no loops below the drain outlet that could create a siphon. Follow Northair installation guidelines.
- Inspect drain valve: Access the drain valve or pump and verify it is not stuck open with debris. Clean or replace as needed.
- Control issue: If the drain pump runs continuously even when it should be off, the control board relay may be stuck and the board may need replacement.
Tip: For gravity drains, maintain proper height and slope to prevent backflow and siphoning.
