Possible Causes
Worn condenser fan motor, Debris in water circulation pump, Loose compressor mounting bolts, Vibrating panels or tubing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before touching moving parts or tightening hardware.
Noise isolation:
- Identify source: Remove panels and run the unit briefly (with caution) to locate the noise source—fan area, pump area, or compressor compartment.
- Fan noise: If the condenser fan is rattling or scraping, check for bent blades or obstructions. Straighten blades and remove debris. Replace the fan motor if bearings are noisy.
- Pump noise: If the sound comes from the water pump, remove and inspect the pump for trapped debris around the impeller. Clean or replace the pump if worn.
- Vibration: Tighten loose screws on panels and compressor mounting brackets. Add foam or rubber pads where tubing contacts metal to reduce rattling.
Note: Do not operate the unit with covers removed for extended periods; this can affect cooling and safety.
