Possible Causes
Stuck water level float, Faulty water level sensor, Control board not shutting off inlet valve, Inlet valve stuck open mechanically
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and shut off the water supply immediately to stop the overflow.
Steps:
- Inspect float: Access the reservoir and verify the float moves freely. Clean any mineral deposits that may cause sticking.
- Check sensor wiring: Ensure the water level sensor or float switch wiring is intact and securely connected.
- Test inlet valve: With the unit unplugged and water supply turned on briefly, see if water continues to flow into the unit. If so, the valve is stuck open and must be replaced.
- Control issue: If the valve only overfills when powered, the control board may be energizing it too long. Board replacement may be required.
Tip: Regular descaling of the reservoir and float mechanism helps prevent sticking.
