Possible Causes

Stuck mechanical float in water reservoir, Faulty water level sensor or reed switch, Disconnected or damaged sensor wiring, Mineral buildup interfering with float movement

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the ice maker from power before removing covers or working near water components.

Steps to resolve:

  • Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the correct mark with clean water. Too low or too high can confuse the sensor.
  • Inspect the float: Open the top cover or reservoir lid and locate the plastic float assembly. Move it up and down by hand; it should move freely without sticking. If it is stuck, clean around it and remove any debris.
  • Descale the reservoir: If you see white mineral deposits, empty the reservoir and soak the float area with a 1:1 mix of white vinegar and warm water for 20–30 minutes. Gently scrub with a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Check wiring: Access the underside of the reservoir or side panel to find the float switch or water level sensor wiring. Ensure connectors are firmly seated on the sensor and main PCB and that no wires are broken or pinched.
  • Test or replace sensor: If the float moves freely but E2 persists, the reed switch or electronic level sensor may be faulty. Replace the water level sensor/float switch with an OBH Nordica-compatible part.
  • Reassemble and test: Refill with clean water, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
