How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near moving parts.
Steps:
- Inspect shovel area: Open the lid and look for broken ice pieces or foreign objects jammed around the shovel or tray. Remove any obstructions.
- Manually rotate: Gently turn the shovel or tray by hand to feel for rough spots or binding.
- Access gearbox: Remove the side/top cover to expose the shovel motor and gearbox. Check for cracked housing or loose mounting screws.
- Listen during brief test: With covers loosely in place, plug in and run a cycle to pinpoint the noise source, then unplug again.
- Replace gearbox assembly: If gears are visibly damaged or noise persists, replace the complete shovel motor and gearbox assembly with an OBH Nordica-compatible part.
