Princess ice maker shows E6; water does not circulate properly over the evaporator; ice size is inconsistent or no ice forms.

Safety: Unplug the ice maker before working near water and electrical components.

Steps:

• 1. Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the correct level with clean, potable water. Low water can cause the pump to suck air and trigger E6.
• 2. Inspect and clean pump filter: Remove the ice basket and top cover to access the water tray and pump area. Locate the small mesh filter or screen at the pump inlet. Rinse it under running water to remove scale or debris.
• 3. Bleed air from system: After refilling, tilt the unit slightly forward and backward (while unplugged) to help release trapped air from the pump and hoses, then restart.
• 4. Check pump operation: With the cover removed, briefly power the unit and start a cycle. You should see water flowing over the evaporator plate. If the pump is silent or only hums without moving water, the pump motor may be defective.
• 5. Inspect hoses: Verify that the silicone or plastic hoses from the pump to the water distributor are not kinked, pinched, or blocked by scale. Straighten or replace as needed.

Note: If the pump does not run at all despite correct water level and clear hoses, replacement of the water circulation pump is usually required.
