Possible Causes
Faulty infrared ice-full sensor, Misaligned ice level sensor window, Stuck or failed ice shovel/harvest motor, Broken gear in harvest mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before touching internal moving parts.
Steps:
- 1. Empty the basket: Remove all ice from the storage basket and restart the unit. Sometimes the ice-full sensor is blocked by piled ice.
- 2. Clean sensor windows: If your Princess model uses an infrared ice-full sensor, gently clean the transmitter and receiver windows with a soft cloth to remove condensation or mineral film.
- 3. Check harvest arm or shovel: Remove the top cover and observe the ice shovel or harvest arm. Ensure it is not jammed by misformed ice or foreign objects. Clear any obstruction.
- 4. Test motor movement: With the cover off, briefly power the unit and start a cycle. Watch whether the harvest motor attempts to turn. If it hums but does not move, the motor or gear set may be stripped or seized.
- 5. Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the ice-full sensor and harvest motor to the control board for loose connectors or damaged wires.
Next steps: If cleaning and clearing jams do not resolve E7, the ice-full sensor or harvest motor assembly will likely need replacement.
