Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between display board and main PCB, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed touch keypad or display PCB, Faulty main control PCB interface

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or display housing.

Steps:

  • 1. Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes to allow the control electronics to fully reset. Reconnect and test.
  • 2. Dry the panel: If the control panel is damp from cleaning or condensation, leave the unit unplugged with the lid open for several hours to dry completely.
  • 3. Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the top or front panel to access the display/control board. Carefully reseat the flat ribbon cable or plug that connects it to the main PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and not damaged.
  • 4. Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage or corrosion on the keypad PCB and connectors. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush (with power disconnected).
  • 5. Replace faulty board: If E8 persists and buttons remain unresponsive, the display/keypad PCB or main control PCB may be defective and require replacement.
