Possible Causes

Shorted or open water level float switch, Disconnected level sensor harness, Scale causing float to stick at top or bottom, Faulty main PCB input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and remove the ice basket before accessing the reservoir.

Steps:

  • 1. Clean reservoir: Drain the water and wipe the reservoir to remove debris and scale.
  • 2. Free the float: Locate the float assembly and move it up and down by hand. If it sticks, clean the guide and float body thoroughly.
  • 3. Check switch continuity: With a multimeter (and power disconnected), test the float switch contacts while moving the float. Replace the float switch if it does not change state.
  • 4. Inspect wiring: Ensure the float switch harness is intact and firmly connected to the control board.

If F3 remains after these checks, the main control PCB may be misreading the sensor and could require replacement.
