Possible Causes

Blocked infrared ice-full sensor, Misaligned sensor bracket, Faulty ice-full sensor board, Ice basket not seated correctly under sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Switch off and unplug the ice maker before adjusting sensors.

Steps:

  • 1. Empty and reseat basket: Remove the ice basket, empty it, and reinstall it correctly so the front edge is under the sensor area.
  • 2. Clean sensor lenses: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the small plastic windows on both sides of the ice outlet (transmitter and receiver). Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • 3. Check for obstructions: Ensure no ice pieces or plastic parts are blocking the sensor beam path.
  • 4. Inspect sensor mounting: Remove the top cover and verify the sensor boards are firmly mounted and facing each other. Adjust if they are loose or misaligned.
  • 5. Test operation: With the cover off, power the unit and observe whether the ICE indicator turns off when the beam path is clear. If it stays on, the sensor board may be defective.
