Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between display board and main PCB, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed touchpad or button PCB, Oxidized connector contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before opening the control panel. Avoid static discharge to electronic boards.
- Step 1 – Dry the exterior: Wipe any moisture from the control panel. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
- Step 2 – Access control panel: Remove the screws securing the front/top panel to expose the display and button PCB.
- Step 3 – Check ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon or multi-wire harness connecting the user interface to the main board. Reseat both ends carefully.
- Step 4 – Inspect for corrosion: Look for green/white deposits on connectors. If present, gently clean with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, then let dry completely.
- Step 5 – Visual inspection of PCB: Check for cracked solder joints at the buttons or display. If you see burnt or broken components, the board should be replaced.
- Step 6 – Replace interface board: If E9 persists, install a new Pro Breeze control panel / display PCB, transferring any mounting hardware from the old board.
- Step 7 – Reassemble and test: Refit the panel, plug in the unit, and verify that all buttons respond and the display is stable.
