Possible Causes
Weak or non-functioning ice shovel motor, Evaporator not entering defrost phase, Faulty evaporator temperature sensor, Control board not triggering harvest
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the evaporator or shovel.
- Step 1 – Observe cycle: Watch a full cycle to confirm that ice forms but the shovel never moves to push cubes off.
- Step 2 – Check shovel motor: Listen for motor noise during harvest. If silent, test and replace the ice shovel motor assembly if necessary.
- Step 3 – Verify sensor operation: If the unit never enters harvest, the evaporator sensor may not be detecting the correct temperature. Replace the evaporator temperature sensor.
- Step 4 – Control board: If motor and sensor are good, the main control board may not be sending the harvest signal and should be replaced.
