Safety first: Unplug before cleaning.

Step 1 – Initial cleaning: Wash the ice basket, scoop, and reservoir with warm soapy water and rinse well.
Step 2 – Air out the unit: Leave the lid open and the unit unplugged in a well-ventilated area for 24 hours.
Step 3 – Run and discard ice: Make and discard 2–3 full baskets of ice before regular use.
