Possible Causes
High humidity air entering due to lid left open, Faulty defrost/harvest timing via sensor, Poor airflow around evaporator, Control board timing error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before defrosting. Do not use sharp tools to chip ice.
- Step 1 – Manual defrost: Turn off and unplug the unit. Allow all ice to melt naturally. Place towels to catch water.
- Step 2 – Reduce lid opening: Keep the lid closed during operation as much as possible.
- Step 3 – Check evaporator sensor: Replace the evaporator temperature sensor if frost buildup recurs quickly.
- Step 4 – Control board: If sensor replacement does not help, the main control board may be mismanaging the freeze/harvest cycle and should be replaced.
