Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on control board, Faulty power cord, Failed main control board, Defective power switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before opening any panels. Do not bypass safety fuses.
- Step 1 – Verify outlet: Plug a lamp or phone charger into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset any tripped breaker or GFCI.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Check the RCA power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, replace the cord.
- Step 3 – Check power switch: Ensure the power button or rocker switch is not stuck. On some models, remove the front panel to inspect the switch wiring.
- Step 4 – Internal fuse: Remove the rear cover and locate the small fuse on or near the main control board. If visibly blown and you are comfortable, replace it with the exact same rating. If it blows again, a shorted component or board is likely.
- Step 5 – Control board: If the fuse and cord are good but the unit remains dead, the main control board is probably defective and should be replaced.
