Possible Causes
Leaking drain plug, Faulty drain valve (if equipped), Water detected in base tray, Blocked internal drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and move it to a location where water spillage will not cause damage.
- Check drain plug: Inspect the rubber drain plug or cap at the rear or bottom of the Salter ice maker. Ensure it is fully seated and not cracked. Replace if damaged.
- Empty base tray: If your model has a leak detection float in the base, remove the lower cover (if user-serviceable) and carefully dry any water in the base tray with towels.
- Inspect drain hose: Verify that the internal drain hose is not kinked or blocked. Straighten or clean as needed.
- Test for leaks: Refill the reservoir and observe for any dripping from the drain area.
Persistent E10 after drying and reseating the drain plug indicates a faulty drain valve or leak sensor that may require replacement.
