Possible Causes
Blocked condenser fan, Failed fan motor, Loose fan wiring, Foreign object in fan blades
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing the fan area.
- Inspect fan: Look through the rear or side grille to see if the fan blades are obstructed by dust, plastic, or packing material. Remove any obstruction carefully.
- Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan blades with a finger or non-metallic tool. They should rotate freely without grinding.
- Clean dust: Use a soft brush and vacuum to clean dust from the fan and condenser coil.
- Check wiring (advanced): Remove the rear panel and verify the fan motor connector is firmly attached to the main PCB.
If the fan does not run when the unit is powered and cooling should be active, the fan motor is likely defective and should be replaced.
