Possible Causes

Loose control panel ribbon cable, Moisture ingress in control panel, Faulty display PCB, Damaged touch buttons

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the ice maker before removing the top cover or control panel.

  • Dry the panel: If condensation or water has splashed onto the control panel, wipe it dry and allow it to air-dry for at least 30 minutes before reconnecting power.
  • Inspect cable (advanced): Remove the top cover to access the control PCB. Check that the flat ribbon cable between the display board and main PCB is fully inserted and not damaged.
  • Power reset: Leave the unit unplugged for 10 minutes to allow the electronics to fully discharge, then reconnect and test.

If E9 persists and buttons remain unresponsive, the control panel PCB or main control board may need replacement.
