Ice maker runs but ice melts quickly in the basket, storage area not cold

Note: Most Salter countertop ice makers do not actively freeze the storage basket; ice will slowly melt and be recycled.

• Transfer ice: Move ice to a freezer soon after production if you need long-term storage.
• Check lid closure: Ensure the lid closes fully and the hinge is not damaged.
• Avoid hot locations: Do not place the unit near cookers, kettles, or in direct sunlight.
• Run continuously: Keep the unit running while you need ice so it can replenish melted cubes.

If ice melts unusually fast compared to previous use, check for fan operation and general cooling performance as described in other entries.
