Poor Meltwater Drainage
Water pooling inside the ice storage area under the basket
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Blocked drain holes under basket, Misaligned ice basket, Excessive frost blocking drain path, Unit not level front-to-back
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning inside the unit.
- Remove basket: Take out the ice basket and wipe up any standing water.
- Clear drain holes: Locate the small drain holes or slots under the basket area. Use a cotton bud or soft brush to clear any ice, scale, or debris.
- Level front-to-back: Ensure the unit is slightly tilted back or perfectly level so water flows toward the reservoir, not the front.
- Defrost: If there is heavy frost, allow the unit to defrost fully with the lid open for 1–2 hours, then restart.
Persistent pooling may indicate a design issue or internal blockage that requires partial disassembly to clear.
