Possible Causes
Ice maker turned off via control panel, Freezer or ice room temperature too warm, Water supply to ice maker shut off, Failed ice maker assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you need to move the refrigerator or access electrical parts, unplug it first and shut off the water supply.
Basic checks:
- Confirm ice maker is ON: Check the control panel for an Ice Off indicator. Turn ice production on as per the user manual.
- Check temperature: Verify freezer is at or below 0°F (-18°C). If warmer, adjust settings and wait 12–24 hours. Ice room models need proper airflow from the freezer.
- Verify water supply: Ensure the household shutoff valve is fully open and the water line is not kinked. Test the water dispenser (if present); weak or no flow indicates a supply issue.
- Reset ice maker: Press and hold the Test button on the ice maker for 3–5 seconds until a chime sounds. Wait 24 hours to see if ice production resumes.
If there is still no ice after 24 hours and all basic conditions are correct, the ice maker assembly or water inlet valve may need replacement.
