Possible Causes
Ice chute curtain stuck open, ice level optical sensor blocked, bin door not closing fully, door switch failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working around moving parts.
- Check door/curtain: Make sure the bin door closes fully and the ice chute curtain swings freely. Remove any ice jams or debris preventing closure.
- Clean optical sensors: If your Scotsman model uses optical ice level sensors, gently clean the emitter and receiver lenses with a soft cloth. Do not scratch the lenses.
- Inspect door switch: Locate the door switch (if equipped) and verify that it is depressed when the door is closed. Adjust the door or switch bracket if needed.
- Test door switch: Use a multimeter to check continuity when the switch is pressed. Replace the switch if it does not change state.
- Reset power: After clearing obstructions and verifying switch operation, restore power and observe if the code clears and the unit starts.
