Possible Causes
Repeated freeze or harvest timeouts, unresolved water or temperature sensor issues, control board protective lockout
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before resetting or servicing.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for at least 5 minutes to clear the lockout. Restore power and observe the next cycle.
- Review prior errors: Many Scotsman controls log earlier error codes. Check the history (if available) to identify the underlying issue (e.g., E1, E2, E8).
- Address root cause: Fix the original problem (water, refrigeration, sensor, or airflow) before clearing E10; otherwise, the lockout will recur.
- Control board: If no underlying fault can be found and E10 persists, the control board may be malfunctioning and require replacement.
