Possible Causes
Tripped breaker, blown internal fuse, faulty power cord, failed main power switch, loose terminal block connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always turn off the circuit breaker before inspecting electrical connections.
- Check house power: Verify the outlet has correct voltage using a meter or by plugging in another appliance. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Check main power switch: Ensure the on/off switch on the unit is in the ON position and not loose or broken.
- Access terminal block: Remove the service panel and inspect the incoming power terminal block for loose screws or burned wires. Tighten connections securely.
- Internal fuse: Some Scotsman models have an internal fuse on the control board or wiring harness. Test and replace with the exact type and rating if blown.
- If still dead: The control board or transformer may have failed and should be tested and replaced by a qualified technician.
