Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical float, Dirty or scaled water level probe, Faulty water level sensor, Damaged sensor wiring to control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and empty the water reservoir before working on the level sensor.
Steps to resolve E7:
- Locate the sensor: Depending on model, Silonn ice makers use either a float switch or electronic water level probes in the reservoir.
- Clean the float or probes: If there is a float, move it up and down to ensure it is free. Clean any mineral buildup with a soft brush and a mixture of water and white vinegar. For probes, gently wipe them clean.
- Check movement: Make sure the float can travel its full range without hitting the tank walls or wiring.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires to the control board. Ensure connectors are tight and wires are not broken.
- Test operation: Refill the reservoir and restart the unit. If E7 persists, the sensor may be defective.
- Replace sensor: Install a new water level sensor assembly or float switch as specified for your Silonn model.
When to call a professional: If sensor replacement requires significant disassembly or you suspect a control board fault, contact a technician.
