Possible Causes
Room temperature above design limit, blocked ventilation around cabinet, unit installed near heat source (oven, direct sunlight)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not attempt to bypass temperature protections; this can damage the compressor.
Steps:
- Check room temperature: Measure ambient temperature where the SMAD ice maker is installed. If above 32°C (or the specified limit in your manual), relocate the unit to a cooler area.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure at least 10–15 cm clearance on all sides and the back. Remove any objects blocking the air intake or exhaust grilles.
- Away from heat sources: Move the unit away from ovens, dishwashers, radiators, or direct sunlight.
- Reset: After the unit has cooled to normal ambient temperature, unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and restart. If H1 persists in a cool environment, the ambient sensor or control board may be faulty and should be tested as in the E1 procedure.
