Possible Causes
Empty water reservoir, misseated water tank, faulty water level sensor, kinked water inlet hose (plumbed models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the water tank on portable models.
Steps:
- Refill reservoir: Remove the water tank or open the reservoir lid and fill to the indicated MAX line with clean potable water.
- Check tank seating: Ensure the tank is fully inserted and properly aligned so that any internal valve or sensor is engaged.
- Inspect hoses: On plumbed-in SMAD ice makers, verify that the inlet hose is not kinked or pinched and that the supply valve is fully open.
- Clean level sensor: If LO persists with a full tank, clean the water level sensor or float as described in the E3 procedure.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor does not change state when the water level is raised, replace the water level sensor assembly.
