Possible Causes
Partially clogged water filter (if equipped), scaled water distribution tube, weak circulation pump, low water level in reservoir
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker and turn off water supply (if plumbed) before disassembly.
Steps:
- Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled to the proper level and that the float or sensor is not stuck in a low position.
- Clean distribution system: Remove the top cover of the ice-making chamber and inspect the water distribution tube or spray bar above the evaporator. Clean any mineral deposits with a vinegar solution and a soft brush.
- Replace filter: If your SMAD model has an inline water filter, replace it according to the manual, especially if water flow seems weak.
- Inspect pump: Listen for the circulation pump during operation. If it is noisy or intermittent, test and replace the circulation water pump if necessary.
