Possible Causes

Evaporator surface too warm or too cold, Faulty harvest cycle timing, Worn or misaligned ice shovel, Mineral buildup causing cubes to stick

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning the evaporator.

  • Clean evaporator: Remove mineral deposits from the evaporator plate with a soft cloth and vinegar solution. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Check shovel movement: Manually rotate the shovel (with power off) to ensure it moves freely and is not rubbing against the tray or housing.
  • Adjust ice size: Set to a smaller ice size to shorten freeze time and reduce sticking.
  • Sensor/board check: If cubes freeze solid and never harvest, the evaporator thermistor or control board may not be triggering the harvest cycle and should be tested and replaced if necessary.
