Possible Causes
Blocked circulation pump, Failed circulation pump, Scale buildup in water circuit, Faulty flow or turbidity sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and shut off water before servicing. Use only Sub-Zero-approved ice machine cleaner.
Steps to address EC07:
- 1. Run a full cleaning cycle: Follow the Sub-Zero user manual to run a complete cleaning and sanitizing cycle using the recommended cleaner. This can restore proper flow and sensor operation.
- 2. Inspect circulation pump: Remove the front panel and locate the circulation pump in the reservoir area. Check for debris or scale blocking the pump inlet.
- 3. Clean reservoir and lines: Drain the reservoir and manually clean it with a soft brush and cleaner solution. Rinse thoroughly.
- 4. Test pump operation: Restore power briefly and start a cycle. Listen for the pump running and observe water circulation over the evaporator plate. If the pump is silent or only hums, disconnect power and test for continuity. Replace the pump if defective.
- 5. Flow sensor (if present): Some models use a flow or turbidity sensor. Inspect and clean the sensor per the tech sheet. Replace if readings remain erratic.
