Sub-Zero
Low Ice Production
Ice maker produces ice, but production is very slow and bin never fills to normal level.

Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coil, High ambient temperature, Scale buildup on evaporator plate, Low water flow from inlet valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before cleaning condenser or internal components.
Steps to improve production:
- 1. Clean condenser coil: Remove the front grille and thoroughly vacuum and brush the condenser fins.
- 2. Check room conditions: Ensure the room temperature is within Sub-Zero's recommended range and that the unit is not installed in a confined, unventilated space.
- 3. Run a cleaning cycle: Use Sub-Zero-approved ice machine cleaner to descale the water circuit and evaporator plate. Scale reduces heat transfer and slows ice formation.
- 4. Verify water flow: Observe the fill and circulation. Weak flow may indicate a partially clogged inlet valve or failing circulation pump, which may need replacement.
- 5. Monitor results: After cleaning and adjustments, allow 24 hours of operation. If production remains low, a sealed system or control issue may be present and should be checked by a technician.
