Possible Causes
Low water level in reservoir, Clogged water inlet screen, Misadjusted ice thickness sensor, Scale buildup on evaporator plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and shut off water before servicing water components.
Steps to correct thin ice:
- 1. Check water level: Remove the bin and observe the reservoir during operation. If the level is low, clean the float or level sensor and ensure proper fill.
- 2. Clean inlet screen: Remove the supply line at the inlet valve and clean the screen to restore full flow.
- 3. Clean evaporator plate: Run a full cleaning cycle to remove scale from the plate. Heavy scale can cause ice to release prematurely, resulting in thin pieces.
- 4. Verify thickness sensor: Inspect the ice thickness sensor for proper position and cleanliness. Adjust only as specified in the service manual.
